Ashlar Cut Slate Stamped Concrete | Custom Color & Textured Steps

This backyard patio received a complete transformation with new stamped concrete, replacing an aging outdoor surface that had deteriorated over time.

The existing patio included old pavers and deteriorated steps that were ready for replacement. Our team removed the existing materials and rebuilt the area to create a cleaner, more durable outdoor living space with a natural stone appearance.

For the new patio, we installed an Ashlar Cut Slate stamped concrete pattern, which gives the concrete the look and texture of individually laid natural stone while maintaining the strength and lower maintenance of a solid concrete surface.

Custom Stamped Concrete Finish

For this project, we used:

• Stamp Pattern: Ashlar Cut Slate
• Concrete Color: Ready-Mix Color #757 10lbs/yrd
• Steps: Custom poured and textured concrete steps
• Finish: Stamped and textured concrete with a protective BRS-25 High Gloss sealer

The combination of the #757 integral color and Sunbaked release brings out the texture of the Ashlar Cut Slate pattern. The darker variations created by the release help define the joints and stone texture, giving the finished patio more depth and character.

Rebuilding the Existing Steps

The old deteriorated steps were also removed and replaced with new concrete steps designed to blend into the patio. Instead of leaving the steps with a plain concrete finish, we textured the steps so they complement the stamped surface surrounding them.

This helps the entire installation—from the patio to the entrance of the home—look like one cohesive project rather than separate additions.
