This front entry concrete project in Arvada, Colorado started with a failing and unsafe walkway. The existing concrete was cracked, settled, and breaking apart—creating both a trip hazard and poor drainage near the home.
Demolition & Removal
We removed the existing damaged concrete and hauled off all debris to prepare for a proper replacement.
Base Prep & Reinforcement
After demolition, we graded and compacted the subgrade to ensure long-term stability. In areas like Arvada, proper base prep is critical due to soil movement and freeze-thaw conditions. We installed rebar reinforcement throughout the slab to increase strength and reduce cracking.
Forming & Layout
We formed the walkway and steps to ensure proper slope away from the home for drainage. Control joints were placed strategically to help manage cracking over time.
Concrete Placement & Finish
We poured 4,000 PSI concrete and finished it with a broom finish for added traction—especially important for entryways and steps.
Final Result
The new walkway and steps provide a clean, safe, and durable front entry that will hold up for years in Colorado’s climate.
If your concrete is cracking or sinking, it’s usually due to base failure—and replacement is the best long-term solution.
